Mind Your Posture

In LYT yoga, posture is your starting line. We want to establish a few points to get you aligned correctly so that everything else can work together optimally. The first place is a neutral pelvis, it is the first thing discussed and established in every LYT class.

Most of us are walking around with postural imbalances and the idea is to correct those imbalances/habits through movement, body awareness, and activation. This is the #1 key to getting better posture and energy exchange throughout the body. (I know energy exchange sounds like a made up thing- it is NOT, google ground force reaction. It is in fact a real scientific measurable thing!)

Below is a picture of me at the beginning of my LYT 200 hour teacher training. That picture is when I thought I had semi corrected my posture and the one to the right is after 6 months of consistent LYT training. The shift was huge for me! My back pain started to subside, my glutes are finally awake, and my running is much for efficient and fun!
